- Hobart® Maxaltig® ER4043 1/8" Dia Aluminum TIG Welding Rod in 10 lb carton includes an aluminum/silicon filler metal for general purpose welding applications and features a 28 ksi typical moderate strength with low melting temperature. Welding rod also features a low welding smut and discoloration, high fluidity, moderate electrical and thermal conductivity with low shrinkage rate or reduced distortion. Rod with maximum corrosion resistance has low ductility with lower toughness and is less hot cracking sensitivity for most applications. Welding rod is ideal for general repair or maintenance applications and is used for welding 6xxx alloys, automotive or motorcycle frames, sports products like scooters or bicycles. Rod meets AWS A5.10, AWS A5.01, AMS 4190 and ASME SFA 5.10 standards.
