- Stoodite. 6 bare rod provides resistance to manyforms of chemical and mechanical degradation over awide temperature range. It is the most versatile andwidely used cobalt alloy, with a good balance ofabrasion and impact resistance. Particular attributesof Stoodite. 6 are its outstanding anti-gallingproperties, high temperature hardness and highresistance to cavitation erosion that results in its wideuse as a valve seat material. It bonds well to allweldable grade steels and stainless.
